Optimizing Your Flume Router Placement for Best Performance

Proper router placement is key to ensuring you get the most out of your fiber-optic internet connection. Here are some tips to help you position your router effectively:

Central Location: Position your router in a central location in your home for even signal distribution.

Open and Airy: Keep your router in an open area to promote good airflow, which can improve performance and extend its lifespan.

Elevated Positioning: Try to place your router in a high location. Elevated positions can help in spreading the signal more effectively.

Avoid Mirrors: Don’t place your router near mirrors. Reflective surfaces can disrupt and weaken wireless signals, leading to poorer connectivity.

Steer Clear of Fish Tanks: Avoid placing your router near or on a fish tank. The tank's inner walls and water can act like mirrors, trapping and degrading the wireless signal.

Distance from ONT (modem): Don’t place your router directly on or very close to your ONT. Ideally, keep it at least a foot away to prevent interference.

By following these best practices, you can enhance the quality and reliability of your wireless internet service.
